Reference Services: Reference books like dictionaries encyclopedias, handbooks, manuals etc. and bound volume of back issues of journals are also available in the library.
Circulation Service: For circulation purposes, the library is facilitating barcode and QR Code enabled automated circulation system using SOUL 3.0 software, developed by INFLIBNET Center, Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Each member of the library has been given a bar-coded membership card that allows them to check out two copies of books for a period of 15 days, while faculty members are allowed to check out 15 copies. A book can also be re-issued. The library also offers book reservation facility based on the needs of users.
Reading Room Service: The first floor of the library includes one reading room that accommodates 115 users with comfortable seating arrangement.
Digital Library: The library has created its Digital Library cum Institutional Repository with Open Source Repository Software 'DSpace'. The K.C. Das Commerce College Digital Library can be accessed through the URL - KCDCC Digital Library
Magazine and Journals Service: The Library subscribes 22 numbers of journals and magazines on different subject domains.
Lib 2.0 Services: Library users can get the latest updates/happenings in the library through our Facebook page at KCDCC Library Facebook Page and our library blog at KCDCC Library Blog.
Reprographic Services: The library has one Canon Image RUNNER 2206 Xerox Machine along with a Fujitsu ScanSnap SV600 scanner machine for providing reprographic service.
E-Resource Facility: The College Library has been a member of N-LIST since 2008. The registered members of the library have access to e-resources through N-List (National Library And Information Services Infrastructure for Scholarly Content) funded by the Ministry of Education under its National Mission on Education through ICT. Under this program, the college library members can access to more than 6,000+ e-journals and 1,99,500+ e-books. The college library is also registered with the National Digital Library of India (NDLI) which provides access to 6,00,000 books and more than 7.5 crores of recourses in the Indian languages and English.
Checking out the Documents: Registered library members are allowed to check out library documents as per their entitlement. Reference Books, CDs, Bound volumes etc. are not issued normally to the students.
Renewals: Books issued to members can be renewed unless they are reserved by someone else. Members need to bring the books to the library for getting them re-issued.
Return of documents: Documents checked out from the library should be returned at the circulation desk, during its working hours on any working day.
Membership Renewals: The membership card shall remain valid for the period indicated on ID Card. The students, faculty and staff members can get their membership card renewed on surrendering all borrowers’ cards issued to them and after settling all other dues.
Book Bank Service: A book bank is a section of a library where text books, reference books, and other miscellaneous books can be reserved for certain types of users. The main purpose of creating a Book Bank is to encourage deserving students by providing informational and educational assistance from the institute itself. Book Banks are developed for the upliftment of the economically backward, differently abled, backward class students and to reduce the rate of failure among them.
K.C. Das Commerce College Library has a collection of 3,381 numbers of books for book bank, which are issued only to economically weaker section students. The Book Bank service is also provided to a few special categories of students for motivating and encouraging the reading habits.
Rules for Book Bank –
To avail this facility, students need to apply to the Librarian with valid documents.
The Book Bank Services is provided to the students belonging to the Economically Weaker background.
Depending upon the availability of the sets of books the priority will be given to the students on the merit of the last examination.
Library Orientation Program: Library orientation is conducted at the beginning of the academic year to make the freshers familiar with the library collections, services, and facilities available in the library. The purpose of this program is to introduce the library to fresher students for efficient use of the library resources and services. The library offers special orientation classes for creating awareness on using E-Resources platforms such as N-LIST, NDLI, and other open access resources.
Library Internship/Traineeship Service: The K.C. Das Commerce College Library provides internship/traineeship service on quality Library Management, which is a very good opportunity to gain practical knowledge in the field of Library and Information Science as well as management of Libraries and Information Centres. This service bridges the theory with the practice in any particular field of study. The K.C Das Commerce Library has been offering this service to the students of Library and Information Science since 2013. The library has given practical knowledge of all library housekeeping services, Integrated Library Management Software SOUL 3.0 as well as open source software Koha, Digital Library Software DSpace and use of Barcode Technology, QR code technology and other ICT tools in the library and other important aspects of library to the Library Trainees. The LIS students of reputed universities of North East India viz. Gauhati University, Cotton University and University of Science and Technology, Meghalaya have visited K.C. Das Commerce Library for training purpose.

He/She must use the library to the maximum extent.
He/She must legibly write details in the reading room register kept at the entrance while visiting the library.
